Federal Directorate of Education FDE

Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) is an administrative body, which was established in 1967 as the attached department of Ministry of Education. FDE is responsible for the improvement of education and also maintains the education standard in the schools and other educational institutes located in Islamabad capital territory. FDE provides the suitable environment for the students to teach and learn with attitudinal change and developing the desire for knowledge.

FDE has started the training of teachers to improve standard of education and it starts various reforms and measures for the improvement of quality of education, uni-system of education, and introduction of IT education at various levels, institution of parent teacher association, English teachers for primary classes and promulgation of education code. FDE also provides free text books to the students, which enables them to cope with the expenses incurred on education.

FDE also provides professional management of the Public Sector Educational Institutions at primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools and degree level colleges, which give education at the master levels in Islamabad Capital Territory. FDE also ensures the monitoring of the effective functioning of PTAs in educational institutes to empower the education. It also helps in enacting the role model and also works as the pilot project implementation agency to bring reforms in the education sector.
FDE has announed 5th and 8th result 2024 on 30th March 2024.
